Shirnelle Council is a native of Decatur, Georgia and received her B.A. in Sociology from Georgia State University. Mrs. Council is a proud graduate of Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio where she was on the Dean’s List, a Moot Court fellow, and a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship and David D. White Scholarship. Mrs. Council graduated from Capital University Law School as a member of the Order of the Curia, an academic honorary society.
Prior to joining Barrett & Farahany, Mrs. Council served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Franklin County Municipal Court. In addition, Mrs. Council worked at a boutique litigation firm where she gained extensive experience regarding employment discrimination, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and sexual harassment.
Mrs. Council serves as a volunteer attorney for the Georgia Legal Services Program and Georgia Appleseed. Mrs. Council is a zealous advocate and understands the importance of providing personable and professional legal representation. In her spare time, Mrs. Council enjoys exploring the city, spending time with family, and reading. Mrs. Council resides in Decatur, Georgia with her husband and son.
